You might have noticed that I’ve added a pretty new orange sharing button at the top of all my recipe posts. And I’m popping in today to give you the quick and dirty lo-down on how this simple button can transform your life! Ok, ok, maybe not your LIFE, but certainly the recipe-finding and recipe-storing part of your life. Which can get pretty darn complicated, let’s be honest.
People often ask me how I store my recipes for easy access, and while I’m slightly embarrassed to admit that I still have an old-school binder overflowing with magazine cut-outs, I primarily rely on the interwebs. I’ve got piles of recipes linked up on Pinterest boards, of course, but these days I’m loving the ease of a site called Yummly.
Yummly is essentially a massive online database of recipes from around the web. It allows you to add recipes you come across on blogs or other sites, organize your recipes into collections, generate shopping lists, and set up your preferences to alert you to recipes that match your dietary requirements and tastes, among other things. Plus there’s an app for y’all iPhone, iPad and Android users, so you can access all this good stuff on the go, too. I love that Yummly is super visual, with lots of mouth-watering pictures, because yes I eat with my EYES. Who doesn’t?
I’ve added the orange Yummly button to all of my posts, so if you create your own Yummly account, you can easily “Yum” a favourite Kiwi & Bean recipe and it will be automatically saved into your Yummly recipe collection. How cool is that? And if you want to get a good at-a-glance glimpse of the entire K&B recipe collection, you can find that here.
(Am I overselling? Yes, yes, I totally am. But I heart Yummly and I’m betting you will too. So check it out.)
